How to Love Your Body at Any Age
Rounded thighs and bellies, gray hair, and sagging skin. Changes happen as we age whether we like it or not. But if Sports Illustrated is celebrating a woman’s 56-year-old bikini-clad body, shouldn’t we accept our bodies- at any age- too?
Many women experience a certain confidence later in life that wasn’t accessible to them in their 20s and 30s. The pressure many women face during those earlier decades can be intense; trying to squeeze in hair appointments every six weeks, maintain a pre-baby body, and fit into a size four, all while balancing motherhood and often a career.
But as we enter our more mature years, many of us leave the pressure to look and be perfect behind. We can appreciate the curves motherhood gave us, the wrinkles we developed with wisdom, and the stripes of gray we’ve earned.
It’s true that our 40s, 50s, 60s and beyond bring physical changes, but fighting them it’s not the key. Just think about what we find charming and fascinating in other people, we are naturally attracted to people who look confident and self-assured.
The secret to loving your body at any age is confidence. Embrace your life and you can’t help but appreciate your body, mind, and soul.
